For the prevention of dementia or cognitive decline, the prevention of obesity, particularly central obesity might be important. The research hints that a high BMI could also be bad for the head while we have all along heard that it is bad for our hearts.
Even though we do not know if the people of this study were to develop dementia, these findings give credence to the evidence that excess body fat may affect the brain. One out of three people over sixty five years may die with dementia, but still there are certain things people can do to cut their risk. Getting cholesterol levels and blood pressure checked, exercising to maintain weight and a balanced diet can bring a difference to life.

The Uses and Benefits of Castor Oil


Castor oil is fatty oil obtained from castor seeds. This is a transparent, thick, viscous, colorless or slightly yellowish liquid having a faint odor and a peculiar, unpleasant taste. Castor oil is the basis for ointments and creams and is a classic laxative for children and adults.
Various methods of application of castor oil are as follows:

·          If lubricated with castor oil for three times a week, eyelashes grow faster and become longer (the same for strengthening the growth of the eyebrows).
·         For colds and bronchitis, rub a mixture of one teaspoon of turpentine and two teaspoons of castor oil.  First, heat the oil, and then add the turpentine. The mixture should be gently rubbed on the chest.
·          For external hemorrhoids castor oil helps by softening the mucous membranes.
·          For tired legs, you can rub them with castor oil before bedtime twice a week or more than that as per your requirement and wear cotton socks. In the morning, the skin becomes soft, velvety, and the usual fatigue and pain will disappear.

The Symptoms of Fever

Fever is one of the most common symptoms encountered in medical practice and clinical practice; this means an increase in body temperature above normal levels. Do you need a reason to increase the amount of fruits and vegetables in your diet? Think about it: A new study has shown that greater amounts of fruits and vegetables - is an all-natural way to make the skin more attractive. This is the way our beloved ‘Mother Nature’, can give the skin a healthy color. In fact, researchers suggest that white people’s skin color changes in the direction of a pink or gold.

It may be associated with the number of servings of fruits and vegetables eaten daily. 
These antioxidant-rich foods that contain plant pigments seem to affect the color of the skin. In the course of the study, researchers analyzed data from thirty five students from a university. The average age of students was twenty one years old. Participants filled out special questionnaires in which they described how often they ate certain foods during all three stages of a six-week study. 

On average, the students took 3.5 servings of vegetables and fruits a day. In the beginning, and the third and sixth weeks of the study, researchers evaluated the skin tones of each participant in seven different parts of the body including the cheeks, forehead, shoulders and upper arms. Result - a healthy and attractive skin! To improve the appearance of the skin, it did not take long time and a significant increase in food products.

After six weeks, scientists have recorded a significant strengthening of pink and golden colors of the skin in people who have increased the number of fruits and vegetables. More than healthy, pink skin color was associated with the addition of one portion of fruit and vegetables a day. Changes in skin color associated with food have occurred over a relatively short period of time, and were achieved by relatively modest changes in power.

What’s more, scientists are discovering that we don’t have to ban salt and all fat to stay healthy. In its place, you just need to cut back on saturated fat (which comes from whole-fat dairy and meat) and trans fats (found in many processed foods and partially hydrogenated oils).

These types of fat seem to increase levels of "bad" LDL cholesterol, which lines arteries with plaque and can cause a stroke or a heart attack.
Good fats, on the other hand—such as polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats, like omega-3 fatty acids (found in some fish, sunflower oil and soybeans) — raise levels of "good" HDL cholesterol and lowers LDL levels. Meanwhile, a study challenges the notion that we all need to slash our salt intake.

It suggests that going low-sodium is more important if you’re at high risk of heart disease—say, you smoke, you have a family history of the condition or you have diabetes. Whether or not you have these risk factors, though, prevention is the key. And it starts on your plate. Three women have already staged their own heart-healthy dietary interventions, and follow in their footsteps to keep their heart pumping strong now and in the decades to come.

Recently, a woman got a health wake-up call: She was diagnosed with pre hypertension at the age of thirty, then pre diabetes the next year—both conditions that up your chances of developing heart disease.  She was placed on blood pressure medication as a result. Then her grandmother died from a stroke. The woman knew that her mother had high cholesterol and her dad had high blood pressure—heart disease risk factors that she had a chance of inheriting.

Ten Steps to Prevent Malware



1. If you share floppy disks, hard disks or USB, think about the security risk.  If you do not have other option, check and scan for viruses before opening. Clicking twice on the drive will open the disk and allow the virus to infect your computer. So right click once on the drive and choose your anti-virus program for malware.

2. Emails from un-trusted sources: Attachment with emails brings malware. Therefore do not open emails from unreliable sources. .exe files are most likely to be a malware program. Opening will install it on your computer. When opening an excel attachment, disable macros before opening the file.

 3. Antivirus program: Occasionally your antivirus program will not spot certain threats. So it’s better to use one extra anti-spyware program.
4.  Download software only from a secure source.
5. Verify security updates for your software. You may think your software is reliable. However, it may not! Ensure security updates and if it requires a patch, obtain it immediately.
6. Update your Operating System’s security patches. Microsoft has standard security updates.
7.  Never share folders unless you need to do it. Before opening, scan first.

8. Website visits:  Check security warning of your antivirus program, web browser or Google, before visiting. Google shows a warning if you visit a website through it.

9. Virus patches: Search the web for instructions to a particular threat, if your antivirus program is identifying it but unable to remove it. See the name of the malware and search for removal of that risk.
10. If a computer on your network is infected, remove it to prevent it from infecting other computers.  Reconnect after removing the risk.
