Don't Get Lured by Phishing Scams

Under phishing, we understand computer fraud, for which you are prompted to register online, using your personal information. Thus, Internet fraudsters get access to your account and use it for their own purposes: make money from it, extract the necessary information, sell your account to a different user, or send spam on your behalf. So how do you protect yourself and your account? The first thing hackers do is attract you by the website.

Getting people through attractively designed websites enables them to steal personal information. They do it in different ways like placing an ad on the site or send emails with links to websites. The question arises - how to be aware of scammers email? Hackers are mostly owners of various sites where people leave their information while registering. And if these data are not needed by the owners of the websites, they can profitably sell them. 

So how do they bring the maximum number of people to the site?  The simplest and most effective way being followed by almost all scamsters is to announce some competition. It will be mostly single talented. First, it is people’s selfishness, looking for ways to prove to the world that they are the best, and secondly, it will be for all people to vote. Organizers of the site, of course, ask all people voting to register. 

Clever organizers create opportunities to buy votes by SMS, so that competition becomes absurd, and winning less attractive and less beneficial. For example, the intruders will send you an email. Of course, they do not reveal that they are crooks. Most probably in that email you will be asked to click a link to win something remarkable. In the row "sender" address may be specified, but you cannot just guess, whether it is fraudulent or not.
